Crazy Creek Soaring lies east of Middletown, CA off Highway 29 nestled in the eastern foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains, the inland most part of the Northern California Coastal Range. The elevation of the gliderport is 970 feet above sea level, there are 4000 foot mountains within ten miles of the airport and 7000 foot mountains 30 miles to the north. This is Lake County, a mostly rural, agricultural region that boasts of the cleanest air of any county in California. Here the sun shines bright, and the morning low clouds and fog often associated with coastal northern California are not a concern. The gliderport lies in the center of a 600 acre privately owned ranch, and has a 4000x150 foot grass runway. A large grass glider staging area is located at mid field allowing for centralized operations. The surrounding area is dotted with small landing strips, making for relatively easy "first" cross country flights. Rustic camping is encouraged and RV access is readily available. At Crazy Creek you can also enjoy our picnic area, hiking and off-road biking in the hills surrounding the airfield. Soaring conditions are superb, with thermal soaring just about every day and winter wave soaring right overhead the gliderport. Ample space is available for privately owned gliders to be based on the field and you are welcome to fly your own powered aircraft in to visit. | |

Our Vineyards are located in the Northeast corner of the famed Diamond Mountain District in the upper Napa Valley. At this scenic Location of just under fourteen acres, the Bianco family has been making wine for over three decades. The District is renowned for the elegant character of the wine produced from its soils and is particularly suited for growing the premier grape of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Under the direction of vineyard manager Mario Bazan, whose reputation was established at world famous vineyards in Atlas Peak, Oakville and the Rutherford Bench, two one acre parcels were planted exclusively with specially selected Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon vines grafted onto 420A rootstock. This heritage clone was chosen because of its unique characteristics - small berries, intense character and sparse yield – ideally suited for our specific microclimate and singular terrior. Wake up to the fog rolling through the Oak and Pine trees. By the time you've made coffee, the sun will be sweeping over to the patio off the kitchen. Our log house, often called "The Lodge" by guests, is custom decorated with four bedrooms.
